Government of the Punjab is committed to introducing reforms which will improve the business environment of the province. Following are the reforms which have been introduced:
The building permit issuance system has been automated by LDA in collaboration with PITB, the software includes electronic submission of applications, issuance of No Objection Certificate (NOC) from relevant departments and issuance of completion certificate.
The building by-laws of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) have been standardized moving towards One City, One System.
The No Objection Certificate (NOC) requirement from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for specific warehouses has been waived off.
LDA has set up Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) counter at their one window facility for timely verification and issuance of Fard.
Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA), Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and Bank of Punjab counters have been established at LDA.
MCL has also started issuing building permits for selective warehouses from Town Hall, Lahore.
Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has linked their system with Geographic Information System (GIS) record of Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) therefore Fards can be issued within minutes from MCL now.
